Here are some frequently asked questions about Total Bronze® self tanning lotion:
How does the product work? Total Bronze® self tanning lotion uses the active ingredient DHA which causes a chemical reaction with keratin, in the surface layer of your skin, producing a wonderful tan. DHA allied with ERYTHRULOSE, another active ingredients, makes the tan uniform and natural.
ü Is Total Bronze® self tanning lotion safe? The product is completely safe and certified by the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MS-2246400-38), authorized by doctors and dermatologists, because it does not damage your skin or your health.
ü How is the product applied? It is applied using airbrush or gun connected to a compressor. We use the air jet technique.
ü How should I protect my hair during Total Bronze® application? We recommend using a disposable shower cap.
ü How do I protect the nails on my hands and feet? As nails are porous, we recommend using Vaseline before the application or painting your nails. If you do not take either of the preceding steps, the person applying the product should lightly clean the nails with a paper towel, after finishing application on hands and feet.
ü How long does it take to apply? Total application time takes on average 40 minutes: 20 minutes application and up to 20 minutes for the product to dry on the body.
ü Will my skin look any yellow or orange? No. Total Bronze® has developed a formula that contains erythrulose, neutralizing the yellow or orange effect.
ü What results can I expect? Skin with a natural golden tone.
ü How many Total Bronze® sessions do I need to get a tan? You will be tanned during the first session, but you can take further sessions to increase the tan.
ü How long does the tan last? This depends to a great extent on natural skin exfoliation for each person and the care taken before and after application. It may last between 5 and 7 days.
ü Does it blotch the skin? The Total Bronze® “jet tanning” system provides uniform lotion distribution, without blotching.
ü Does it stain clothes? No. If you see any color on your clothing, there is no need to worry, because the product is soluble in water, in other words washing in soapy water will clean your clothing.
ü Can I sunbathe? Yes, but remember the dangers of exposure to the sun. We recommend using sunscreen, because the self tanning lotion does not contain sunscreen. To help our customers, Total Bronze® has developed a range of sunscreens: SPF 15, SPF 30 and Facial gel SPF 25.
ü After tanning can I use cosmetic products? Yes, after the first bath. The exceptions are acid-based cosmetics (such as those used to combat blemishes and ageing), exfoliants and products that contain alcohol.
ü Are there any situations in which use of Total Bronze® tanning is not recommended? The only situation it is not recommended is for people using any type of acid or peelings. We recommend suspending use of these cosmetics for effective Total Bronze® application.
ü Can children and adolescents use the Total Bronze® tanning lotion? Children and adolescents need authorization from their parent or guardian.
ü Can women who are pregnant or breast-feeding use the Total Bronze® product? The product does not penetrate into the skin, therefore there are no recommendations against its use. However, we recommend authorization from your doctor. Pregnant women may find that the tan does not last as long, due to hormonal alterations, which accelerate natural skin exfoliation.
ü Does the product tan vitiligo achroma? Yes. Because it acts on the surface of the skin, it tans vitiligo achroma, hiding them.
ü Is there any way to improve the results of Total Bronze® tanning? Yes, well-moisturized skin means the product is better absorbed. Apply moisturizing creams every day after bathing.
ü Will swimming affect my tan ? Swimming in water with chlorine or salt may discolor the tan, possibly causing blemishes and reducing its duration.
ü What sort of clothing should I use during application? You may use bathing suits. Give preference to darker colors, to avoid stains. If your clothes are stained, the stains will be removed after washing. To ensure that the product act properly, attend your session wearing light and baggy clothing and avoid textiles such as jeans and lycra.
ü What happens if I inhale the product? None of the product’s components pose any risk and do not cause adverse reactions in moderate quantities, when accidentally applied or even inhaled.
ü Does the tanning lotion cause any type of allergic reaction? The components used in the solution are completely safe for use on the skin. If you have an allergic reaction to the self tanning lotions or cosmetics, we recommend consulting your dermatologist first.
